Christian Writing: Finding Income From Articles
58Christian Writing: Finding Income From Articles
By Bishop James I Feel God Brown
The lifestyles of a writer and a painter are closely intertwined. The typical artist paints his or her best work and hopes someone will buy it before they go to heaven. Many writers have historically undergone the same type of fate. However, technology has started to change how writers can earn while they work.
Since I have several websites and mail lists dedicated to the craft of writing for Christian writers, It seems that the number one question that I am asked is "How can I make money while I am waiting for a book deal"? Because of the shear volume of online and offline publications there are untold opportunities that most writers can capitalize on.
One of my favorite income streams for Christian writers is writing articles and giving them away. No, don't try to sell everything, give it away! Plant your writing seeds for a bountiful future crop.
There is great opportunity associated with syndicating no-cost articles. When you circulate articles this way you are spreading the gospel, meeting the needs of fellow believers, and growing a audience eager for your resources and opinions.
Because of Internet web sites, email newsletters, and print on demand publishing, the demand for quality, 250 - 500 word, Christian copy-writing has never been greater. The fact is that most article directories have few articles directed to the Christian community. You can help fill that need!
But, "How do I make money giving away the store?", you may be asking. Here again the secret is by providing solutions to the issues impacting people's lives. At the bottom of your article you can place links to products others are selling, that address a solution to the problem, and receive a commission. You could also create and sell a PDF e-book that teaches the solutions.
Or, you could just start a mail list of those who like your material and offer products each week. Whichever method you choose, three benefits will be a blessing. 1) You are getting great name exposure. 2) You are perfecting your craft through practice. 3) You are getting consistent feedback about what people like and don't like about your writing. 4) You are paying your bills while you wait to get paid.
Be Blessed

I'll take a look at it James, thanks for sharing. I have written a book titled, "Pray Before You Vote! Jesus Is Not a Democrat or Republican! Jesus Is Lord!"
